Thanks, yeah mortise and tenoned together then the top is attached with brass screws.

Ok , bit of an Arbtalk virgin but I thought I may as well join in the " look what I've made" thread. An oak table made for a restaurant.

First pic when it was being oiled.

 

 

A bit grainy, but one of it in situ.

Nice how you've tapered the base to follow the top, lovely bit of Oak.

I made this bench for my wife so she can sit and look out across her kitchen garden.

The bench is made out of larch cut up with the alaskan small log mill on a husky 435.

After assembly the bench got a coat of beeswax and linseed oil.

How did you do the motice and tennons? Did you use a chainsaw?

I didn't trust my skills with the chainsaw to do it so the motice and tennons are made the old way with hand saw and chisel,used a drill to get the most of the wood out and cleaned up with the chisel.
