Did this video of a job i climbed for someone else. He now wants it for his website, he is a proper business man and everything has a value.

The copyright belongs to the person that took the footage.

Before using it for commercial use I suggest you get any model & property release forms signed.

 

Not sure what the normal rates are for videos?.... maybe try Getty for their stock license rates?

How much work do you get from the company? If it were me and I was getting a lot of work for them i'd just give it them for free. If its just the odd day here and there, I don't think the £100 mentioned is far out of the way

A little good will goes a long way. It's why I'm not tight with firewood on harvesting sites. If folk are prepared to tidy up the head of the tree that's fallen into the field, they can have all the firewood. Mutual back scratching is how the best business is done and I fear that if you insist on payment for the video, he might not offer you any more work.

I read it as the company wants to pay for the video and rights to use for advertising.

 

Read the op.

 

100.00 is peanuts for advertising, one off payment. May have it on website for years
