Spider jack 3 !?!?

I watched the spiderjackery videos and it certainly looked incredible.

I tried one a frame at the APF it felt nice and responsive and I liked the thumb brake. It's just that I wasn't convinced that it would suit a lot of the work that I do..... ( eg Lots of stinking conifers☺️)

I was given one of the earlier models kindly by a member. It's fantastic in the right tree. Well it's good in most trees actually.

Requires a fair amount of thumb pressure to use properly, which makes it awkward to use left handed because of where the rope terminates to the left of the device.

I think a lot of people saw the Spiderjackery vids and bought one off the back of that, then realised they were still crap compared to Joe Harris.

The climber makes that video more than the device IMO.

Watch "friction hitchery"

Looks good, been on my SJ for ages now and love it. This looks like good progression. Maybe looks slightly big and heavy? But i doubt it will be noticed.. Pulley is a good addition. As per the lock in pin.. I alway have added a marlin spike above my SJ when I don't want it to self tend when climbing up..

I'll be buying one from treetools and then thrashing it :-)

It's interesting art are still thinking double rope.. There is still innovation to be made by the looks of it and they are doing it

yes i've been really happy with my 2.1 spiderjack. my only niggle was when going above anchor point it would take all your rope off you and you'd have to pull a load through to let you advance.

As said this little locking part will be great, but how long will it last that little pin.....

Anyhow my spiderjacks been slipping for ages and when im a bit flusher i'll be having one :)

The weight will not be an issue as it will just be sitting at the static end of the system in an improved ergonmic position.

Less braking pressure required and I don't see that locking button causing any issues. The choice of cam size will make it tend better than ever.

Anyone know a dealer in the UK who can give a definite ETA ?
