Ex-utility trucks, etc...

Hi all,

 

Does anyone know where the utility companies auction off (or otherwise sell) all their trucks?

 

Seems like quite a few dealers sell them, but obviously it makes sense to buy them from their source.

 

Anyone know, or is this one of those well kept motor-industry secrets the the likes of us shall never find out?!

I think a lot go through BCA. They seem to handle a lot if ex lease stuff so you will find a lot of 3-5 year old 24-60k pickups, drops ides and tippers. Don't get much over 3.5t gvw in my experience.

Burnley auction has a lot of ex council, utility's and electric board stuff normaly or foe ex army can be found on I bidder or bid spotter

Hay dock auctions have all ex council trucks, vans, landys, pickups most with very low mileage and fsh the guys are very helpful you can give them a fairly good inspection.before you bid, I bought a top 110 Landy from there you can phone up to see what's on the list weekly auction every Tuesday morning,hope this helps

Always fancied an ex SSE truck they have some nice hilux with winches and the defenders with the roller shutters are very smart too.
