It’s already  gone sold before the end of the auction

Yeah I noticed that last night. I hope whoever bought it has paid good for it... last I saw it had only reached £51.

Too busy watching rugby I've not been near my one today. Maybe tomorrow...

Has anyone got one of these 'full wrap around handles' on their Dolmar 7910 chainsaw  (6800, 7310, 7900, 7910 Range).....?

If so how do you find it?
Are there any drawbacks having this handle on the saw when operating it?

Shavey: Any idea on price for the full handle and securing screws?

I've never seen the point of full wrap handles. Using the saw upside down (and thus making use of the extra handle) would mean an awfully high stump.

Not all felling is done for timber plus in the tree a full wrap can be nice when using a Humbolt gob and on the ground for humbolt

Fair enough I suppose. I just like a low stump!

@shavey as promised

It has been chucking it down here today, so not much I could get on with outside so started on the 6800...

Everything went smoothly and it was a very straightforward build.

I have made 1 balls up though... I have a 115i stripped for spares also, and lifted the wrong oil pump worm drive!! It is pressed onto the crank, like a bearing, and I only realised it was wrong after I had pressed it on!! I need to make an adaptor for my pullers to get it back off, as they don't fit... but minus the oil pump and clutch she is rebuilt.

Took a bit of work to get her to fire up but the beast is alive!! The carb needs set properly, and obviously she needs finished before I can do that but I'm buzzing that she's running. (I hope the videos work - they were much longer but I had to cut them for the 7mb limit on here)

Hi Shavey

What's your view on the Full Wrap Handle on 7910?

I thought it would be good for doing:
     awkward wind blown trees
Trees on Slopes where it can be awkward to get a good position
General felling / Although some have stated to the contrary

I do think that the 7910 does look cool with a full wrap handle....

Whats the cost for a 7910 Full Wrap Handle?
Also..
- Can you get the 7910 with the Heavy Duty Air Filter?
- Is the HD air filter any good or needed in the UK
- What is the cost for a 7910 with the Heavy Duty Air Filter?

I appreciate that you have a lot happening at home at the moment so only answer when you have time (as per emails)
