I like a big saw for firewood when it's all 2 - 3 ft butts it's easier to just work from one side. Also for ringing up firewood you are not taking the weight of the saw its just supported in the cut.

I like that feeling as the 3120 gets into the back cut and the tree takes the weight of it instead. It's similar to the oooo you get when you take off the ski boots after a long day on the slopes.

Heavy but a necessity.

Baffled me as well Mick, makes perfect sense now.

I've had a 25" on the 660 for a long time, been ages since I had to get the 36" out of the workshop.

That said, we aren't really set up to do big trees, but how often do they come along anyway?

About every 150-200 years or so....:001_tongue:

I have 2 3120's, and 2 88's and a 090 (its a sickness)

When your chogging down big stems or cutting up that stick on the ground, you just cant beat the speed of the big boys. I grab the 3120 as soon as the trunks bigger than 24 inches.

Really saves time

Run down with a 3120 for a full day once, never again. Not climbed much over the last few years, but now much prefer to go from a twenty to a 66 for chogging, even if it means circling the stem.

Love the 88s for ringing up, but seem to spend more time filling than running them
