Yep, you're right Ed. genset's trailer with the greedy boards is just over 2m3.

Just been and re-measured my ifor which I assume is the same dimensions as TCD's (8x5).

Its 1.46wide x 2.44 long x .37 high which works out to 1.31m3. Heap it up a bit and you will get 1.5m3 on it. Lucky old you if you can sell that size load as 2m3 but round our way we wouldn't be able to.:001_unsure:

I am still amazed about the general perception of volume, and the way people talk about 'tonnes' and 'loads', 'trailer fulls' and 'pick up fulls'

Both locally, and from contributors on here.

There appears to be a wide range of people from those who are a little liberal with the truth :001_tongue:, to those who are more or less giving it away! :banghead:

If I was retailing a product, I would want to know exactly how much each bag, box, net, trailer or whatever, contained!

Firewood has always been a nice, stessless little extra down here and the arguing about volumes - not interested, life's too short. Frankly I can fit nearly 3 builders bags of split logs in the tipper trailer; yes that includes air space but so flippin what. That's the system people are used to in my experience and it doesn't need to be any more complicated. I think the bed area in an indespension is bigger than the ifor, although both are classed as 8x5s. When people phone up and ask for a load, I've never had anyone remark that it was less than they were expecting. Bloke had 12 loads off me this morning and quickly realised it was a lot more than he'd anticipated. Hey-ho.
