Used to have 1 before it got nicked and it was a brilliant machine, very productive with the footpeddle to lower the blade and hold the log before splitting, just been pricing up a new one against what else is available but keep coming back to the fact it's faster .

What model are you looking at? I have a magik 13 (pto).

very fast, powerful, and safe.

Reason I preferred it over other makes was the leader control system - which allows you to draw the blade down one handed (or with the foot control if you pay for that extra) with enough force to hold log in place but not enough to sever your finger(s) off before engaging full splitting power with both lever controls.

This makes for very efficient safe splitting, although I'm sure you can probably bypass the two handed system on most machines.

No cons I can think of.

i am looking at the 13 t magik petrol i need something that can do 1m+ logs and be fast and all that within a compact storage size

Done 6 cube of oak today and I like it.just need to modify output Shute the incorporate a cleaner.and bingo.my laddie was just keeping up feeding me.

 

how did you find it on fuel i never done that quantity in one go so i never really noticed how much fuel went into it
