Hey folks have just been asked for a price to remove these conifers. need to figure out how best to remove the chippings to get the quote right. I don't have anywhere to put them myself but a local landscaping supplier takes chippings for free and sells them on as mulch. Unfortunately he's over twenty miles away. I'm thinking a roll on roll off skip might be an option, but no idea what size to price. There are thirty trees in all, not very tall but pretty thick so there will be a good bit of brash to be chipped. Also would a one man operation get it all felled and chipped in one day? or budget for a two day chipper hire? Still not very good at pricing jobs or estimating time scales, roughly whats a fair price for this job? thanks

Whereabouts are you? May be someone closer who will take the chippings?

Portaferry Northern Ireland mate, definitely nowhere any closer as its on the tip of a peninsula.

Be wary that will be a horrible job!!

By that I mean there will be an unbelievable amount to get chipped up!!

I can't see it as 1 man 1 day myself not with winters short days as well.

Getting them down will be quick enough it's chipping that's the problem

You have the problem in front of you,

Q1 How quick can you get the chip away

Q2 How quick can you get it on the deck

That's probably a good days cutting and chipping provided you have a decent machine and can get rid.

Price for 2 days if just yourself so you are not killing yourself clock watching , chipper for 2 days and a roll on skip if you can get one delivered to a private address.

Has to your wages only you can answer that .

Then conifers wont fall over that easy when cut either .

1500euros/£1071 at todays exchange rate so Hodge is on the ball there.

I'd put 4 men on it so the chipper is running full time, tipper and tipping trailer to evacuate the chips which I would have pre-sold/given away via the free ads along with the wood.

£750-£1000 depending how much you want it ? Steady day for 3 guys if you can get the chip in 1 load/ find a nearer site. If you've not got a lorry a grab lorry to pick it up off boards and drop it at your tip site on an hourly rate (2 hours I guess) would probably be cheapest way.
