Is anybody interested in some free Sycamore from a decent sized Sycamore we took down in Innerleithen. The job was done as a favour for a friend and out of area for us. As a result its not worth us leading it back to Northumberland. There will also be a load of Horse Chestnut by next week to clear. Anybody interested please message Joe on 07907389183. Certainly a few loads there if i was filling my 8 x 5 Ifor.

Hi does anybody know if Timberwolf ever brought out the greasable bearings and steel fans for the 150. I phoned up Spectrum and they said Timberwolf had dropped the idea. Thanks in advance

I have a similar set up on my landy but it has supports from the bottom back to the chassis to spread the load. 5mm angle iron

Hi I went to start my trusty old blower today and the fuel in the tank had drained through the exhaust hence the strong petrol smell in the workshop this week. I topped it up and it did the same again but didn't turn over very well. My immediate thoughts are a carb problem allowing the fuel through to the cylinder making it difficult to turn over and draining the fuel. Any thoughts or advice appreciated. It is a back up blower so no massive hurry was just thinking buy a diaphragm kit and clean/ rebuild carb?

Hi a couple of questions regarding a 288xp which I have rebuilt with a new meteor piston and pot and fitted with a 28" bar. I would like to use it for some small scale milling. What is the best way to run the saw in and where is the best place to buy a ripping chain. All help and suggestions appreciated.

Arbor Trolley. Bought it for a large Willow in a back garden with limited access. After the first 20 minutes I knew it was a good move as the brash kept disappearing with the groundy. Thought about building my own, in the end more cost effective to work and make money than take the time off.

When I used to do winch challenges in my defender I had this problem twice. First time was the failure of the diff pin, normally followed by horrendous crunching noises. Second time was the half shaft. I don't recommend driving as I drove home in diff lock and a shard of metal cut through the stub axle resulting in the wheel and hub assembly detaching from the car. Luckily this was at 5 mph on the approach to a roundabout. I would strip the hubs off either side. Use a 14mm spanner possibly with a hammer to take the whole hub assemblies off in 1 go (saves stripping down). Once off take out the difference find your problem and clear any debris.

Best way to get there is straight up the A1first turn off for felton signposted felton and thirston turn immediately right, looks like a layby follow road around and you should see my landrover on left hand side. I hope this is the correct place to post this. I am new to Arbtalk but have been doing tree work for a number of years on a part basis and have used arbtalk as a visitor for a while and found it a great source of information and product reviews. As the tree work is now expanding and moving towards full time. One such activity is the harvesting and sale of Christmas trees from a farm in Northumberland where I manage the woodlands. The trees are Norway spruce and range from 4ft right through to 12th so would be ideal home trees or big offices pubs, country houses etc. The woodland needs thinned so I am willing to do a good deal on anybody who wants to buy a large batch I can cut and deliver or the buyer can come and pick on site. will do a deal om as few as 10 Contact Andrew 07815 857854 or pm for more details. Hi All am a new member looking for a little advice on a monkey puzzle at the front of a large country house where I have been working recently. The tree has a great shape which has been spoilt by somebody in the past allowing an additional stem to grow alongside. The minor stem is 8" whilst the main trunk is in excess of 20". My initial thoughts are to cut off the minor stem at base level at an angle to allow water to drain. The tree is a major feature of the house and I don't think I would be invited back if any work I did impacted upon its health. Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully the attached image works. Andrew
