Head Torch Recommendations

I just bought one with one Cree led very bright last 3 hrs on full brightness 6 on half which is all I need. Best bit is £12 plus vat. I will find the link if your interested. It's obviously Chinese but feels quality and if it gets crushed or lost its cheap.

I've got 2 Cree opticfire and they are fully waterproof.

Got a number of head torches but my favourite is Petzl's Ziipka

http://www.headtorches365.co.uk/petzl-m2?gclid=COOsx6L9xskCFUKc2wodrFMPhA

Only weighs 38g plus 3x AAA batteries. Batteries last approx. one year. This with an avg. use of 10mins. per 48hrs. Normally use rechargeable batteries, with a backup of the non-rechargeables if I'm heading onto the fells. Easily stows into a small space, (including pockets); self adjusting headband/cord, so can be worn under or over a hood or a helmet or around the wrist.

I recommend a LED Lenser SEO 5 .

There are brighter larger LM outputs but it is a well made multi adjustable and zoomable headband torch. Very well made and aimed at the sports/walker market so its not heavy or bulky with the barriers (3xAAA) behind the led chip lamp.

All the LED Lensers are worth a look .

£2 - that's a real bargain!

Forgot to mention I've had mine for 10+ years, it's proven to be an excellent torch and is regularly worn in rainy conditions with no ill effect. Perfect for climbing & paddling trips, as well as everyday use.

I recently misplaced my petzl tikka and brought a very expensive petzl Nao

It is ammazing:

The integrated light sensor is oriented in the same direction as the eyes; it measures and analyzes reflected light in order to instantly and automatically adjust the headlamp's beam pattern (wide and/or focused) and light output to the user's needs.

The shape of the beam and the power of the headlamp instantly adapt to the need (lighting for close, medium or long-range vision), so the user always has the right amount of light.

Lithium Ion battery recharges easily with the integrated USB connection.

I've just got the same ben and it's been fantastic the last few nights with highways call outs as when you turn and look at something reflective like the back of the truck it dims itself so you don't get dazzled by the reflection and the battery on smart mode seems to last an incredible amount of time and the little indicator on the back showing how much charge is left if very useful.
