How long do you leave it until you take action? I am awaiting payment from Volvo for some hedge reduction work I did. It's now been 2 weeks since invoice and I don't know whether I'm worried or pee'd off. I didn't stipulate in the invoice how long they have to pay, but, rightly or wrongly, how long do I leave it until I go and book a 'test drive'

Always ask what payment terms they operate on and always stipulate your payment terms on your written quote. That way you know where you stand.

IME big firms usually roll with a 30 days payment schedule, some much longer, it's a bad idea to not state your payment terms, they can drag their heels as much as they like.

Woodworks how long has it been since invoice? Starscream's comment of worrying after 2 weeks from invoice got me thinking you haven't said how long it's been?

2 weeks is nothing to many with 30 days remittance being the norm and some companies 60 or 90 days. Worth baring in mind, painful as it is😟

Oh damn! Maybe I'll give them 30 days, then contact them and ask how long their remittance is. And change the text on my invoices haha! I'm only a small outfit and the ones that require invoicing i have very good relationships with. When I won the quote for the Volvo job I almost got a semi in my pants as it should lead to good things, now I'm beginning to regret it if it's going to be aggro to see the money.

I think you should wait it out a bit.

Give them some time and as you say good things may come
