Hardwood (not oak h c sc for the clever feckers) cut with a harvester that strips the bark is going to be dry in 14 months. Was buying it in last year where you could snap the stuff 4inch with your hand it was that soft. I'm just telling you what I've seen and it's cut left 6 weeks to get damp from underneath bark and sold

I have some 4 in beech which I assume was branch wood about 2-3 years old and put in to nets 18 months ago. I find it not as dense as the main trunk goes very light when dry and not as long lasting on a fire. I always found this timber dried quickly in the length but any thing over 10 in would take a couple of years to season in the middle.

Last year I ran out just at the end of the season. I told two customers that we'd got nothing dry and that they'd be better trying someone else.

One was a new customer: I never heard from them again.

The other was a regular - maybe 10m3 a year, she went somewhere else but sure enough was on the phone to me this September complaining about the rubbish she had from the other bloke.
