Being a tight a**e we always cook 2 joints on a Sunday and use both through to mid week, chicken and pork today. However was in Lidl this morning and picked up some Kangaroo steaks, very lean, bit chewy and gamey flavour. Kids sampled but didnt show them box! Sure I saw Alligator in Iceland other day

Zwartbles lamb shoulder went in the slow cooker @13:00 with garlic, tomatoes, peppers, chillies, courgette, and chick peas. Came out at 19:30 to rest. Served at 20:00 with citrus couscous & garlic pitta bread.

A little single malt then bed ready for the work / weather armageddon of next week!

Shot Canada goose last Wednesday. Got right and left actually but nettle shy dog wouldn't fetch the second one!. Tring air dried goose ham with the breasts so used last of my curing salts and they are now hanging wrapped in muslin. Slow cooker had the legs with carrots and onions. Bit of mash and they were the best goose I had in a while. Seems like the curing salts had also tenderised the meat!
