Hi,

I have a job in December in the SW15 area for a family friend.

I'm not from the area and don't know it at all.

I'm looking for somewhere to tip some wood chip or even possibly some branches and brash so I can avoid taking the chipper.

If anyone is able to help it would be much appreciated

Thanks

Are there any council site within that area, or is there a site I can check that anyone knows of?

You could try speaking to one of the Rangers for Wimbledon & Putney Common. They used to take wood chip for the horse trails & logs to sell.

I don't have the number but easy to find on line.

Another place you could try is Mortlake Cemetary, again they used to take chip but it's been a few years since I worked in London.

There is a waste transfer station in Battersea that might take it but you will be weighed in & will cost.

Again a bit of a jaunt but a possibility is

Mid-Surrey Farm

133 Reigate Road

KT17 3DE Epsom

Phone: 020 8393 109

I haven't used the place but others on here know it.

Basic question but have you researched your route home? You may need to settle for a happy medium of convenience and drop off halfway there...

Logs to wimbledon common, need to be cut to approx 12-15" (windmill lane?) but is free,

Chip to Croydon tree station Conduit lane, probably the cheapest, but around 30-40mins each way, but this is london), mortlake is around £120 a ton i think, ouch!

I could be wrong (I've never used them) but I've heard recently that Conduit Lane don't take any more.

I don't know about that either but 10 minutes further on is:

Highams Farm

Sheepbarn Lane

CR69PQ

£20-30 per load I think.

Totally the wrong direction for the OP though.

Back again, I thought I had this sorted but the drop site I had has fallen through.

I'm coming from Gloucestershire, and will be travelling west from London.

Anyone along that route able to take a load?
