Chain for a 15" Stihl MS261

I have bought my first saw: Stihl MS261 C-BM with a 15" bar.

 

I asked the dealer what chain is on it - he said "I don't know, it's just the one that comes with it".

 

I want to know as I have my CS30 test in 2 weeks and want to use this saw.

Doesn't it have the size and link number embossed on the bar?

maybe you mean what type of chain - chisel, semi chisel, low kickback etc, you should get all that in the course books

Should be a .325 as standard. Worth getting full chisel if it doesn't already.

 

Semi chisel is for soft poofs.

I am all for full profile but perhaps for newbies who might find semi a bit more forgiving and easier to sharpen???

Best way to learn. Get the best out of your saw, don't dig it, and sharpen well.

And there in lies the problem, nooobs on a course don't have time to waste learning the nuances of top notch sharpening
