I have been asked to carry out the work as per the letter and picture, however I do not agree with the cut that is shown here. If I leave that like that it will look crap and I have always followed BS 3998 and cut at the branch bark collar, this would allow it to callous over. What are your thoughts??

We did some work for a house where the neighbours tree overhang into their garden and the owners wanted the tree officer to be there to show us exactly where he wanted us to cut. We had to leave long stubs as opposed too collar which we found bizarre also but that's what we were instructed too do so.

The letter is from a consultant to the site owner, The people who's garden it is are having to pay to have the work done, they asked me but I'm not happy to leave it like that.

Don't worry about it, just do it like they say.

Id rather not, people will see me leaving it looking like that and word gets around. Think I'll pass. Too many folk round here to slag work off.:)
