  1. I shall cancel my professional indemnity insurance tomorrow then if it’s not my responsibility to insure I’m carrying out my job correctly.
  2. I’m not disagreeing with his points and I know what needs to be included. I provide loler examinations & have someone I trust and knows what they’re doing to do my kit. I don’t know what was missed or wrong with the one mentioned in the post. All I’m saying is if a ‘competent’ person isn’t carrying out their job properly then that’s not good enough and something should be done to improve their service ie, refreshed skills or whatever. Yes they should be made aware and they can then improve if they wish. I’m not trying to reinvent what should be included in a loler, I’m not suggesting it should have 3D pop out characters or the magic smoke your car has Im just saying it should be done properly.
  3. It’s nothing that concerns me was just voicing my opinion to the post. If a garage does a mot and doesn’t do the paperwork or whatever properly rendering it useless for example. Is it ok because they’ve checked the car?
  4. Agreed it’s not rocket science, however had you paid for an examination and all that information wasn’t included and it got picked up on would you not be annoyed? The employer is paying someone deemed competent to carry out a task. If the report isn’t full they aren’t carrying out that task properly in my opinion. I’ve not seen the report so I don’t know but I have seen some where information is missed so nothing would surprise me.
  5. I’m assuming the aa would have picked up when auditing the companies paperwork. It would suggest to me that flawed would mean it wouldn’t meet the icop. A lot of previous inspections that Ive seen and would say are flawed just aren’t up to date with current standards, or just are very lazy. To me they wouldn’t be worth the paper they’re printed on. I think it’s important for people doing these inspections to get up to date. You’re relying on a ‘competent’ person to give the service that you’re paying for.
  6. I would say if it wasn’t up to the required standard then I would want to be refunded. I’m not sure id want or have faith in them re inspecting. If one of my inspections got flagged up as sub par I’d be embarrassed to say the least and certainly refund. Also I’d be thinking about further training to refresh my knowledge before putting any more reports out. Not much help I know
  7. Did the rope come with a tag on it? You would need to have a serial number on it for LOLER purposes. Every item needs to be traceable back to a unique serial number. Also a date of manufacture would be ideal. It has been mentioned that there should be a tracer label inside the rope but I would have thought most shops would/should send lengths of rope out with the information labelled on the rope. I know whenever I’ve brought ropes by the metre they’ve come tagged.
  8. Thank you much appreciated. I will have a look at it.
  9. Thanks for your response. Can you get new switches for them or is it not that straight forward? I’ve not had a chance to split the saw in half yet but wondering if I’m better off getting someone else to have a look if it’s a bit of a complex task.
  10. I have a t540i xp top handled chainsaw and it’s just started playing up. When I take the chain brake off the light still flashes as if it was on and the chain won’t spin. It does sometimes decide to work which makes me think there’s a loose connection somewhere in the wiring, or perhaps a sensor somewhere that could be faulty. I’m struggling to find many part diagrams or parts that it could be. Has anyone else had this problem and managed to resolve it?
