Tree surgeons like confetti ....

Is it me or are there tree surgeons every where now a days ? Seems to me here in West Sussex there is an epidemic of high sided trucks towing chippers here there and everywhere . There is the " old Guard " of familiar names plus a large percentage of new guys who I have never heard of cropping up daily !

I noticed that when I visited West Sussex (my old stomping ground) a month ago.

I don't know where all they all find work.

I'm not knocking them, decent vans and chippers and probably competent guys.

There's tree surgeons everywhere but everybody wants staff. But on the opposite side of that, nobody is willing to have a trainee.

I've got a trainee. He started a few weeks ago and is doing a 2 year arb course at Plumpton. We are treating him like an apprentice.

 

Is the reason there are swarms of tree surgeons in Sussex because of the amount of work round here? maybe in future when someone asks how work is we should all say its crap.

It's crap... theres no work round here. No idea why people bother.:thumbup:

 

Mind you I've got a lovely matching van and chipper. Thinking of getting a couple of unimogs and a 24 inch conehead chipper soon, just for Mrs Migggins apple trees.

Good idea. I thought I'd come and visit you for a few months I just have to bring all me gear hope you don't mind me parking in your yard every night and staying in your spare room you know I'd do the same for you when the work is crap round here

Maybe there will be plenty of divorces sooon .and mountains of lightly used kit on the market.. So us poor guys can grab a bargain!!!!!
