That tree is bigger than it looks I rekon and with an 80ft drag lumping 3ft rings.

 

Felling the main stem

 

 

Half a day to rig out and clear the crown

 

Half a day to fell and clear up the main of the stem leaving the milling butt and tidy up.

 

Full day to mill the butt, get the planks out and tidy up

 

2 days @ £395

 

1 day @ £80 for a second groundy

 

Bonus of around £300 for the planked timber ?

 

= £1170

 

Charging the customer £870

I'd happily sell it from site.

 

No way. You dont want the customer getting the impression that you've just sold their(your) timber -

Pretty soon everybody will be thinking their bit of dead willow is worth a fortune.

That would go straight back to my yard for planking.

I was under the impression that it had to be milled on site due to poor access.

 

But even if you sell it in the length, its easy too give the impression YOU are paying the buyer to move it :wink:
