T540 what bar?

Looking at another new bar !! I'm tempted to go for the sugihara but I'm put off by it being noticeably heavier , what are people running and if there's any one noticing the weight with the sugi.

If you can't support the extra .2g or whatever over Husky's Techshite bar I can recommend a few websites to build up your forearm muscles.

they do a light weight bar Sugihara .3/8 .050 solid pro lightweight chainsaw bar Husqvarna mount

i like sugi have them on my echos much better than huskie bars

I run a Sugi hara lightweight on my 540, forget comparing the weight to the techlite because as Mark says they are utter rubbish.

Sugi light weight pro . My Thecshite de laminated within a couple of weeks so as replaced under warranty with the older , stronger, Husky bar as fitted to 335 etc . This was ok but went for the Sugi Lightweight Pro . Lightness but with durability .

As a weight reference on a 12"

 

husky techlite 320g

husky standard 395g

sugi pro light 395g

sugi pro lam 400g

oregon bar 445g

 

Its not much on paper but you can tell the difference when you hold the bars, and see the balance on the saw.

 

TBH though it doesnt make much difference in use, in regards to weight.

 

There was an issue with some of the techlite bars delaminating but I have seen quite a lot that have lasted well in the hands of contract climbers.
