do you really think that suddenly our country will be totally over run with syrians just desperate to come and sign on?

Yes, have you been watching the news? Everyone in the world wants to live in Europe.

If they can't live in peace amongst themselves they won't be able to live in peace with us.... Some of the previous immigrants haven't exactly been an asset to Britain...

You sound like Alf Garnett mate!

What asset was Britain to countries it it describes as the commonwealth, made slaves of them and stripped the countries bare, and you think we will sit with our cosy wee lives from now on? Open your eyes mate!

So do all other reasonably minded people in Europe.

The Prime Minister of Hungary Victor Orlan has had the courage to point out something which is obvious but anathema to the politically correct elites of Europe, namely, that immigration on the current scale will result in Europeans becoming a minority in their own continent with a consequent loss of European values.

The mainstream media and politicians in Britain and the rest of Europe are voraciously feeding the public what amounts to unashamed propaganda to persuade them to accept not merely huge numbers of Third World immigrants now, but an ongoing and ever increasing stream in the not too distant future. These politically correct idiots think they're safe from the effects of mass immigration, but if it continues at it's current rate their children and grandchildren will not be so lucky.

Bang on. :thumbup1:

" 3.8 million refugees from Syria (95 per cent) are in just five countries Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq and Egypt:" this was back in 2014! we are suggested we take 20,000 over 5 years.

It makes perfect sense for Syrians to stay close to their homeland in neighbouring muslim countries who are part of the Islamic world. Why would they want to go to Europe anyway? Europe is the home of free-market capitalism, a free press, meritocracy, consensual government, religious tolerance, equality between the sexes, and individual freedom, these ideas represent the polar opposite of the Islamic way of life. We've seen the divisive consequences of multicultural separatism here in the UK, you want more of that?

Think about it, given the challenges of facing strange customs, traditions, and languages, these new migrants naturally find it difficult to achieve rapid parity with hosts. Then millions of potential new muslim immigrants into Europe buoyed by their sheer numbers can translate into a powerful political constituency — all the more so if it's angry, unassimilated, and always being replenished by new waves of arrivals.

As for the Owen Jones quote, Owen Jones has just appeared at the Sinn Fein summer school in Ireland. According to Sinn Fein’s own newspaper, Owen used the opportunity to praise Sinn Fein’s ‘progressive’ politics, and suggested that people take inspiration from the 1916 Easter Rising.

This exposes what a sham the far-left’s attitude towards political violence really is. Owen Jones isn’t the first person of his ilk to have supported Sinn Fein. For decades there has been a line-up of far-left figures who have done the same. For instance the new Labour leader – Jeremy Corbyn was chumming up to Sinn Fein even while their military wing was blowing up ordinary pub-goers, shooting farmers in the head and planting bombs in Britain’s shopping centres.

Quoting Owen Jones on the subject of immigration is strange when you consider he advocates political violence.

Here's where multiculturalism leads us -

Hard times come and hard times go(world wars etc) hard times come again.

We are the human race and inequality will always make us hate each other I'm afraid.

If you follow your argument to it's logical conclusion you'll ask the exact same question of the Muslim Ottoman Empire that reigned for over 500 years committing atrocity after atrocity on it's colonial subjects. But you wont will you? because it was Muslims committing the atrocities wasn't it. It doesn't fit your anti-west grievance narrative.

You haven't the faintest grasp of history do you Mull? well... other than reciting Robert Burns out loud and watching Braveheart on repeat every night.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian_Genocide

The Armenian Genocide was the Ottoman government's systematic extermination of its minority Armenian subjects inside their historic homeland, which lies within the territory constituting the present-day Republic of Turkey. The total number of people killed as a result has been estimated at between 800,000 to 1.5 million

I think burns made reference to mans inhumanity to man, but I don't think it was his quote?

It doesn't matter which race fought which race really!

The fact is man will always fight each other in some form or other and that will not change, so you might be cosy for a generation or two but not much longer.

Unless you know something I don't?

You think that happened by chance? it was fought for. So you could be cosy "for a generation or two".

I'll frame it in a way you can comprehend, William Wallace fought for his freedom from English oppression, he died trying to achieve that freedom, right now, you're so far away from the kind of man William Wallace was you'd need the hubble telescope positioned at the far end of the Milky Way to grasp the vast chasm between you and Wallace. He would not have been the kind of man to sit and utter the self defeatist words like you just have.
