The Lidl Florabest grass strimmer....

Recommended Posts

My Florabest strimmer takes 40:1 but that's a bit of a pain when everything else is 50:1.... so I'm gonna start using it at 50:1.... has already done a mountain of work so I don't care if it seizes.

cheers, Steve

Its been said before! Its not the machine that needs 40:1 they allow for the fact that you might be mixing petrol with 20/50 engine oil. Stihl Green is 50:1 as it's specially formulated (other fuel oils are available) Aspen might be a better plan as it keeps so much longer for occasional use.

That's interesting, I assumed it was just because the engines weren't as well made so needed bit extra oil. Probably makes sense when you think on a global scale where fuel quality can be lower

Makita say use 40:1 unless using their own oil, I'm sticking to 50:1 synthetic in all my two strokes and storing them with aspen.

BTW do you know if the ryobi attachments fit the Lidl one?

I was going stihl kombi but have bought separate hedgecutter instead so have ryobi bits with no engine

Hi the hse link refers to multi part cutting heads with flail or chainsaw chain this is due to the high impact and centrifugal forces that could cause the chain to eject from the cutting attachment at high speed causing serious injury or death not one piece blades like the decimator that would be fine
