You may be able to make a saddle to fit over the lower roof that would fit over the top ridge and give a flat platform to put a ladder on. You would need to get the angle right and have something like double carpet to spread the load on the tiles.

I guess it would be like an upside down yacht trailer with a plinth on it.You could use stud partitioning timber for cheapness and a bit of OSB or an old door on top with carpet suface for grip for the ladder.

It should work and be safe - I used a door with a wedge and carpet to fit a big old double glazed window on my porch roof once.

Couple of milk crates on the flat roof and a scaffold board from milk crates to the outhouse ridge. Sling a climbing rope over the roof and tie your self in. Job done

about the simplest idea.

Dont forget to repair the cow shed roof while you are up there then the dogs can be in the dry and the water wont do anymore damage to the rest of the structure

I don't think the roof actually needs repair (although after I've fallen through, it might well need some TLC :D) - the flow of water is so heavy the tiles can't cope - it's like a hose. Normal rain is fine.

I've done this without the rope tie in bit. Screw a batten to your scaffold board to wedge the base of the ladder. Just looked at the picture again, can't you put a plank out the window below it and get a couple of heavy mates to stand on it while you go out to do the job ? :D (done that as well)

that's the way to go we used to do that double up a couple of 13ft scaffold boards 3ft out the window and 10 inside and you don't even need 2 fatties on the other end just someone who can sit still for 10 minutes
