Been cutting 19 years.

 

Been cutting and climbing for money for about 15 or 16 years.

started college in 1999 and av been at it ever since, been self employed for the last 5 years, when i first started you had to make ya own prussik knot, when i went self employed i was lucky i have a fella working with me who's been at it 23 years so gained alot of experience for the time saving jobs

5 years, still learning. Enjoy every day. Wish I'd started when I was 18.

 

Hit the big 50 next year and have no intention of giving up.

Started at 19 doing power line clearance for Simon Armitage in Dewsbury, no Nptc, no experience, anything.Got sick of gettin electrocuted(Not kidding)got my tickets through Leeds council, went to Oz,came back after a year at it and still climbing 17 years from when i started.

Would'nt want any other job....................But looking towards something a bit more specialist nowadays.Got to start using the brain a little more than the back now, seems to recover quicker:biggrin:

8 years, 26 hrs a day, 13 months a year(feels like it sometimes) on the tools, now have to wear a shirt to work most days and drive around looking at trees rather than climbing them, but your body cant cope with semi-pro rugby and tree climbing forever, so cutting down (no pun intended) on both of them.

2 years, started in last year of high school helping my granddad out, then started studying it at college and working with him and my cousin.

 

my granddads been in the timber trade since he left school, hes now 72 and still work 6 days a week...
