Yes .I bought one off Tony at the Arb fair before last ...takes a while to get used to the reel on the side of the harness ... But worth persevering with for having 5m of rope neatly stashed... I've been climbing quite a few years now and keep open minded about new bits of kit ,if I've got the pennies available to give it a go I will... Ease and efficiency is key

The dyneema set up is much better than the velcro; the SJ stays in position,quicker change overs and smoother running IMO. My SJ was on its way to the bottom of the kit bag... till the dyneema came into play.

I was 16 when the storm hit, 2 months into a YTS working for what was Southern Tree Surgeons. An amazing eye opener to tree surgery.

441 ....fantastic saw, run mine on 20". I did stick a 30" on for a couple of cuts..... not something I would do on a regualar basis !! (had a breakdown....needed to finish a job ).

I've been using a Millets cag in a bag for the last 10 months shower proof and cheap. Great for climbing, the hood can be drawn in quite tight to stop the rain dripping down your neck,no zip to go wrongand no excess baggy bits to snag up on.

Re: Atlas Grove Images Great to see pics of the Titans ! The National Geographic site has a short video of Steve Sillett climbing Hyperion -type tallest tree in their search and you've got it.

I've been using the rope guide and lockjack sport for about 3 years now. A seriously smooth system. Rope guide, really good on chog downs, set up below your wire, just chokes up tight to the pole, if you do happen to have your spikes kick out , the length of the slide is minimal.

I have got a pair of the ultra fit, yes too tight, I looked like I'd just walked off the set of "Black Adder":001_tongue:Movement was really restricted, where as hi-flex do their title justice.

Exactly the same problem, I think I was only 3 months into a pair when stitching started to pull out.

As I'm up for new trousers soon, I'm interested to find out which brand (if any !) is considered to be the best all rounder ie. quality of stitching etc. I know it mostly comes down to looking after your kit, no tailoring with a silky ,or saw exhaust:001_tongue: I've had various ,SIP ones,stretchair, HIflex.... What does the majority go with??

Yes, I've got this unit ,not sure how/why or what I did to get it! Did it same day as CS41 assessment. I do remember being asked to go and start a blower.....one guy did fail for lack of ear/eye protection. Is more to do with being a knowledgeable good groundie in rigging situations.

I should be busy with work but I have been off looking after my wife who has been suffering with a back problem ( I've only worked one day in two weeks ....aaagh!! not good). Any way in between running round looking after wife and children , I have managed to read "The Wild Trees" by Richard Preston.Absolutely fantastic, would reccomend it to any tree nut! Crossed fingers , back to work next week....looking forward to the break !:
