WD 40 is mostly fish oil with the addition of some man made chemicals .

Myth - there is no "fish oil" in WD40 it is mostly kerosene and lube oil.

I think WD40 is excellent for cleaning things but not much use for lubrication especially as it dries out really quickly.

I have been using kerosene and engine oil for years on my blades.

For the gears on hedge cutter and strimmers I make a mix of lithium grease and 80/90 gear oil until the mixture has some sag, seems to be doing the job ok as Ive not had one break yet..touch wood!

What about gt85? Is that any good for lubricating the blades? And regards nozzles for grease guns do they make one that fits the stihl screw in type holes, similar to still own tine cap end thingy

Well spotted!!

Our last order which arrived from Anglo American last week was branded as Agea.

We phoned Anglo to ask why. They said they had rebranded, but no reasons given.

Definitely not counterfeit!!!

Stirred, but never shaken! (not by Steve anyway, I know him too well:big grin:)

Seriously though, although Anglo say it is rebranding, I wonder if its more a case of misprinting!

Still good stuff though, whatever its called.

PM me if you have trouble getting it. Not all Aspen dealers will stock it.

Hi, Jamie,

I have looked at trying to find a grease nipple that will fit into the thread on the trimmer gearbox, but haven't found any that fit yet, nor have I seen anyone else do it.

I think it would need to be drilled and tapped to the correct spec.
