Wasps

First nest I've seen this year and the biggest 2' between beams. Lucky sprayed it with rippon and they all buggered off. Sorry buzzed off

Wasps are about, uncovered a wasp nest while installing a fence. Were not happy. They don't half pack a punch when they sting!!!

We had a wasp best outside out bedroom window in the eaves recently, so sprayed that. Only to find a bit further along is a hornets nest 😱

Nowhere near as aggressive as wasps. There was a hornets nest in the house I grew up in. Never got stung but they certainly look the business.

Certainly look mean enough! They go up and down the window at night when the room light is on.

 

I got swarmed on by bees many years ago whilst up a tree, so very wary of stinging things!

Cut a log off a stem and when it dropped it cracked this little nest open.

My groundy called earlier saying he won't be in tomorrow as he has been stung by wasps, What a big fairy!!

must be localized variation - last year came accross many nests, got plenty stung including treading in one and needing a vinegar shower afterwards, but seen hardly any this year.

Not seen a single wasp this "summer".

Mind you, it has rained every day for the last month.
