Holder A60 forestry tractor

When you split it it's worth replacing the needle bearings in the props shafts and giving it a good grease up:thumbup:

With the A55 the engine should just pull off the bell housing so no need to get at propshafts unless something is awry.

Both mine are a bit derelict and I've been meaning to do the clutch for over 6 years...

Ooh brilliant that's great to know, it just goes to show!

I'm after a side cowling for the steering column as the previous owner lost mine! I will pay very good money as it's the only bit missing from mine hint hint:lol:

Where are you based monkey business? I have a workshop manual if you need any info, I have planned to show my restoration on here but not got round to it yet. I have put it on you tube if you search holder a60

Thanks again rich

I'm up in Cheshire - a bit of a trek from Dorset I'm afraid!

To do main swivel joint will you not need to split it ?

Aah I thought you meant the upper ball spherical bearing?

My two are A55s and I think top and bottom are identical ball races, I've only replaced a bottom bearing. It's the A60 that has the wrist action with the top spherical bearing IIRC but I haven't used an A60 since 1978 when my mate bought it from new.

Hope someone can help. I have a Holder C500 which is a reverse drive. The gearbox has gone and I need a replacement. Does anyone know of any about I believe it is the same gearbox as in the Holder A60.

Hi can you or would you not be better taking the box to a transmission specialist and get it totally reconned , reason why, a mate of mine took a grearbox to a specialist about 4 years ago which was out of a boat and cira around 1930 came back looking and performing as new, just a thought, as when you are seeking something that is rare it all most seems a never ending task of looking and asking, been there a time or two,
