About to buy my first chipper, going for a tracked machine.

Its down to a choice of a TR6 with 500 hours or a 540i with 1000 hours

Both come with the same trailer and cost within a few £100 of each other

(£19000 ish all in)

I did think that going for a bigger diameter was what I wanted, but the Forst is a very nice bit of kit. I want to be desirable as a subby man and chipper combo while business is still building,

Any thoughts?

I've no experience of either. But IMO if you want to be as desirable as possible to sub out, the bigger the capacity the better considering weight and size isn't really an issue. The 1000 hours is a little off putting compared to the 500, but I still think capacity would win it for me :)

I'd also be wondering why the tr6 is for sale with only 500 hours clocked.

The owner may be trying to dump a chipper that keeps costing him.

Or he might of gone for a bigger machine.

Both chippers are from Redwood
