Beans on toast

From time to time I have craved good old beans on toast and remember how much I enjoyed it as a lad. It always used to be Heinz but nowadays the beans appear to be watered down and not half as tasty. Are there any other brands out there that can reacquaint me with this classic meal ?

Got to admit beans on toast is one of the missus snack favs, with cheese of course, mine is tins of beans with those little sausages in, both of which come from aldi. Quality is a sign of the times I am afraid, less beans more sauce.

Its like harvest fruit pies, the 5" sort size of the 60s/70s and mr kiplings cakes, brilliant in them days for picnics at the seaside, but if you could still get them today, I bet they are a total disappointment.

Haha, I had to have spaghetti hoops on white bread the other day for old times sake! They don't do Space Invaders anymore booo.

Beans on Toast yum yum with grated mature cheddar, loads of butter...:thumbup1:

What about alphabetty spaghetti?

Can you still get that?

Got to the point where I had to use a skimming ladel to fish out the beans and leave the watery excuse of a sauce behind. Looks like its branston from now on. I see also they do one with Lincolnshire sausages . Can't believe I've let that escape my attention. Suppose I'd been brainwashed when I was a teenager believing it was Heinz or nothing.
