Not wych elm I don't think. Sapwood band much too wide, heart too dark. Nice work though :D

 

I did wonder!

 

A lot of hard work and if I'd known about the community politics before I started may well have walked away.

But ended up with some nice boards so not much to complain about.

Looks like you put in some hard graft getting that lot milled up and stickerd! I will look forward to see what furniture you make with it eventually. :thumbup1:

 

Thanks, I've got a client who is after a couple of farmhouse type tables and unit doors for their farmhouse refurb to start with.

Also got a guy who makes high end wooden boxes who is after some.

coming across the odd piece must be 30 years old at least of nice elm the lads bought back this last week. At least 12 -15" diameter. disease must have missed these odd trees. hard as nails must try and hold back from firewood and lucas it as the slabbed attachment is going back on to slab a clients beech.
