Chris Evans get the top job at top gear What do you all think

Yeh... I think it'll be okay.

With the BBC generally, it's all about the programme and not the personalities (Strictly/Breakfast/One show have all replaced their main presenters at one time or another without losing ratings) although TG might prove to be the exception.

If they keep the format more or less the same, then if they get the co-presenters right so that they play off each other well then it'll be a go-er.

Not sure who it could be, but I'd definitely like to see one of the following;

Guy Martin,

Suzie Perry,

Idris Elba,

Jodie Kidd

I posted a thread about Alan Partridge being the host a while ago, but I reckon I'll throw Steve Coogan into the mix too.

He's apparently a bit of a petrol head and might make a good Hammond replacement as he's quite capable of playing a slightly foolish version of himself (see 'The Trip') but could also do a decent serious report on his own.

I think they'll go for Boy/Girl/Boy.

Hi mate that's great line up well done thanks Jon

I don't like Chris Evans but he should be given a chance.

Maybe they should have a different guest presenter each week, even just a real person (fat bloke down the pub) to offer some realistic opinions.

I know its called TOP gear but isn't it a bit boring when the vast majority of tests are done in testosterone-packed supercars that no real person will ever own?

Most of it seemed to tee up Clarkson to make some smug smart-arse comment.

What the betting that Jeremy Clarkson will be back soon. The BBC have him waiting in the wings as as soon as everything calms down he will be back

Should put him in a reasonably priced car and have a critique on his lap

To be honest why would anyone be that interested in seeing a bunch of cars you see out on the roads every day for another hour on Top Gear. Id rather see supercars and vehicles I'm never going to drive being thrashed around.

Although I wish the BBC would just give up Top Gear now rather than attempting to reinvent it. I just cant see how it could be anywhere near as good
