My field needs topping/mowing and a chap down the road has just bought a tractor and flail. I'm not expecting him to do it for free but wondered what the going rate might be as there are other landowners locally without enough land to justify buying a tractor and it could be a good little money earner for him

I charge:

70euros an hour for a compact tractor and flail mower 42"

90euros per hour for 'long' grass OR 4.5 cents per m2 for regular cutting with the same size tractor mower.

Minimum charges apply including travel.

Between £250 and £300 a day with driver and fuel depending on whether it is just grass or whether it more woody stuff to cut and cutting for 8 hours
