For a petrol powered splitter, it does seem not badly priced.

 

I'd guess it's not going to be particularly fast or robust, but for domestic use I think it looks pretty good.

I am just starting out have too much to split by hand but don't want/haven't got a stack of cash to spend on a big splitter!

i would say avoid that one, based on a few things.

 

looks very low down so not great working height

who makes engine - spares etc

what is pump capacity/oil amount? - could boil the oil easily and be painfully slow etc

 

so overall looks very domestic indeed, i would say look at somewhere like flowfit website at their kits for log splitters or find a good local blacksmith and have a chat with them, they if any good will have all knowledge of what works, and how to build you one.
