If something's easy it's probably not worth doing/everyone could or would have it/do it. people should stop moaning about house prices and get on with working and saving for them. As once they're on the ladder they'll soon change their tune about all the gains they'll be making over the years.

Also I think tax credits are almost as big a joke as benefits especially for the self employed or family's where only 1 adult works through choice, it's just money for nothing.

Good way of looking at it especially since your in your twenties. What first time buyers have forgotten is old gits like me had a property that was worth less than they paid for it for 7 years and the interest rate went over 10 % also some of us got stuffed with endowments so have had to pay twice

Too right and I thought I understood things financial, I had to change to repayment and would have been paying for another 7 years if my wife hadn't cleared it.

Still don't know what the thread is about.

The system tries to look after dependents, unfortunately there are plenty who will abuse the system.

Its the people who abuse the system that need culling, there are far more that really need help but dont get it.

Hi all still loads of interest in this thread thanks John

I worked all day and then went out to work in the evenings to get enough money for a deposit on my house. Yes work can be scarce in some areas but the Poles etc always manage to find work even though it is the low paid jobs. If there is jobs available the those on benefits should be made to do them or lose their benifits
