Wasps AAARRRGGHHH

Oh ahh bloody wasps we where doing some fen mowing with the recipitating mower when i took the top of a nest of the small british wasp mean little buggers about ten got me on my legs and in my shorts to hot to wear grollies and every thing was bitten i just let the mower go and ran stripping of as i ran i ended up about 100 meters away starkers exept for my wellies boys where in stiches they still itch after 3 days :scared1::001_tt1::blushing::001_smile:

i was strimming footpaths last week and hit a nest of some sort got stung 6-8times on my hands ended up in casualty.the wasps in question were smaller than normal and way more agressive,ive still got to finish off the path and was wondering does smoke work on wasps like it does on other bees.

 

Can you get away with pouring petrol on them and burning them out?? Works a treat but it depends how well used the footpath is i suppose

Walked underneath this little beauty today mowing grass. Would have been a nice suprise if I had been felling the tree. About the size of a football

I came across this monster of a thing in France a few months back - it was, by far, the biggest flying insect I've ever seen - an easy 2 inches long from nose to tail:

It kept stealing our drinks, so in the end I ruined it's day with a copy of the Le Mans Yellow Pages and turfed it into a stream.
