I had mixed results some burnt as well as beech and some was a bit of a waste of time not sure why. I would imagine you need to get it seasoned and use it before it goes past. I would give a sample a try before storing too much.

I keep the good stuff for my own fire especially now we stopped log sales. There are plenty of tight fisted people about to pay good money for the crap if it looks cheap :lol:

Ones a low hanger Jon. with the other two ones on top of the other and they go over a small 'pond', so partly off the deck. Woods a bit of a mess at the moment.

 

Could always leave it for its conservation value.

Like most firewood it is best split as soon as it is down. Dries quickly and get wet again even quicker:001_tt2:

 

Hi mate thanks for that we normally do that split it as it comes straight in but it is only for us so we didn't bother because we had too much on thanks John
