Stu, I`ve only had this truck a week and it pulls the chipper easily. Its an Iveco Eurocargo E17. My old truck was an E15 and it did struggle with a load and the chipper. You`re right about the price of the chipper. I was lucky to get that one at pre-pound/dollar exchange collapse. I recommend it though. It saves loads and loads of time.

You must have had a duff engine nick. My old E14 cargo would pull 15 cube of chip and a 12" chipper without ever running out of power.

 

I would be very wary of overloading though - my cargo with a full load of chip used to weigh nearly 9 tonnes...

Here's mine.

 

My chipper operates on a slightly unusual system. It contains Dean, SWB, Frank, Mr.Ed, Buzz, CTS, MonkeyD and Mick Stockbridge all cutting away at timber inserted through the back window with a selection of my blunt old Silkys.

 

I then start a Husky vs. Stihl argument, and the blast of hot air from within blows the chips into my Tranny.

 

Only fuel consumption is Tescos blue stripe burgers and Scrumpy Jack.

 

And yes, I do own the patent....
