Forst ST6 chipper bent axles

We have 2 ST6 chippers and both are showing signs of the axles being bent (excessive wear on inside right tyres), they're only 12 months old! Has anyone else had this problem? Spoke to Vince at Redwood and he said it's down to speed humps but our old timberwolf 150 didn't have any issues after 5 years use.

 

Should these be replaced under warranty?

You don't buy a new machine for it to let you down that's why I got a new arbtrack150 I'd say defernetly a warrenty claim

Same problem with our QuadChip.

Alko running gear.

New axles under warranty but still one wheel (kerbside) scuffing outside edge of tyre.

This time I've just swapped the wheels over.

I'll replace the tyres when I come to sell the machine.

No problem with mine but I would say it's down to pot holes not speed humps,pot holes do an awful lot of damage.

We just sheared a stub axle on our 1928 on a pothole, at low speed too.

 

I think the problem with most single axle chippers is that they use axles that are only rated a little over the weight of the chipper. Whereas on a trailer the axles are rated to over the maximum load, yet that load will only occasionally be achieved. On the chipper the weight is there all the time.....
