I've just bought 6 stihl chainsaws from an auction all in very good condition just requiring bars and chains the biggest is the ms361 which I have intensions of keeping as a back up for my husky 560xpg but it would be replacing 357xpg if I decide to keep it, obviously I'll try it out a bit first to see if I can get on with a stihl but just wondered if anyone on here has had any problems with one.

The 357xpg is 15 years old and never missed a beat but it's starting to take about 6 pulls of the cord now before it fires so I guess it's getting a little tired.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Good old skool saw,I had a perfectly good example until I ran it over with a tracked jensen chipper, didn't seem to work properly after that!

haha! i pulled the TW125 over the 660.... dogs went into tire sidewall..... 660-1, tw125-0 !

for the ms362, i think it lacks the grunt of the 361.... i have since put a 40cm bar on the 361 and an 8tooth drive cog, now it really rips!!

The MS361 is a very good saw, and at least mine was very responsive for a Stihl, in class with a Husky xp.

The Euro version is not so much in need of a muffler mod as the US ones. I tried it, just to see, and it didn't nmake as much differense as on the more choked down US ones.

The saws only negative point is the inboard clutch, but it is light and handles well for a saw with an inboard.
