I just havent got a clue on why people arent spending money :confused1:

Fuel has gone down, mortgage has gone down and food has gone down!

Why will it take 12-18 months for it to get sorted?

Whats going to happen then?

If there was no media I think things would start to improve a lot quicker imo.

It all sucks.

Recession............??? MEH!!!!

In a way we are lucky within this industry, as a vast percentage of our work is necessity, NOT luxury. Clients have obligations to maintain the trees that they own. Not just for trees sakes but for health and safety aspects (overhanging pathways etc). There will always be tree work out there, it just depends on who gets the contract. It will go on reputation, it will go on business marketing skills, it will go on who knows who, it will go on who has the specialist kit, it will go on who is willing to work for the cheapest, it will go on who gives the best impression of themselves when quoting or tendering for work.

Basically, I'm gonna screwed hahahhahahahaha. Seriously though, I'm staying positive because at the end of the day, I will win.

Tongue in cheek about our work being a necessity?

I think most peeps see tree work as the last thing on there list that they are going to pay out for. Unless its on top of there house or the council have sent a nasty unjustified letter to them then the trees can always wait till next year.

err.... You are kidding right?

You obviously were not in treework during the last recession - That wiped out a lot of tree surgery companies.

I don't know maybe I'm guessing, but would it be fair to say there were an excess of tree firms hanging about after setting up in October 87?

I truly hope that the ones who survive this recent bit of agro will be deserving of the lack of competition. Additionally, that good firms don't close up shop. I'd like to think it was Darwinian.
