Was just looking for a new 7 seater for personal use and came across this one Ssangyong

When I looked into possibly buying a new ranger last year I was informed by the ford fleet dealer we normally deal with that if it was ordered with a factory fitted tow pack it would come with slightly different gear ratio's, how true this is don't really know.

I was under my 09 Ranger yesterday and it's terribly rusty for a truck that age, I understand the build quality has improved on the newer ones, well it needs to have.

I would go and give one a drive I have a feeling they may be hard to live with. Looks good on paper merc engine tows 3500kg but crude compared to modern stuff.

My brother in law bought one, as a Daiwoo, about 10 years ago (X plate), as you say it had a merc engine, automatic, towed well and had a long guarantee. He didn't do may miles and scrapped it at around 100k (mostly electrics and autobox problems) last year.but it did work out fairly cheap motoring overall.

Think you would struggle getting 7 people in there - its just a double cab pick up with a canopy on the back.

I was looking at the Rexton, I know someone that has one for a while now and is pleased with it.

The pickup just caught my eye

I was talking about the rexton I forgot they did other 4x4 models. I looked at a new rexton van about 7 years ago no miles but pre registered at about 8 k I don't think they were that popular and not great to drive. The Dacia duster does not look that great either I think you get what you pay for.

I saw a ssangyong at Isuzu dealer, asked about it, he said it suits the school run type 4x4 motoring, but is not cut out for work 4x4 commercial stuff, towing, rough and tumble of work life. Bit like an l200 I suppose.

How many kids and chainsaws can I fit in that?

Three kids, two 020's, a kombi system, and a rake and blower. Heard you don't do the big stuff at your age anymore so no need for a 36"bar and saw poppet.
