Strange timing as was just looking at an impact rench in my local saw shop this afternoon and bloke there said don't be tempted to use it for the op's porpoise for just said reason.

He said he turned or attempted to turn it the wrong way.

Yes, just surprised it broke the flywheel when working on the other end of the crank. I always thought an impact wrench was pretty safe for these jobs, and you specifically don't need to hold the work still.

Harsh lesson learned all for a needle runner bearing prob wasn't even necessary. I also question your tuition when doing your chainsaw maintenance course.

We've only been running our 201's a few years and haven't had a full breakdown yet although they are gutless in comparison to the 200.

Maybe worth just ringing a load of companies and asking if they have any in the graveyard.

There's one on ebay that looks like it's been taken off a brand new saw to fit the upgrade kit and it's nearly as much as a dealer part but free delivery and no vat I suppose so if you're in no hurry it would be a decent proposal unless someone is scrapping a saw and selling bits of cheaper.

Or just modify the ignition timing by modifying the key......a tad!
