Mostly yes . However the 365/372 copies were the actual engine is of ....careful now stubby ....Chinese origin ( probably Zomax ) but the rest of it , the exhaust , the crank cases , all the plastics are made from Identical to OEM but actually after market parts it is harder to detect unless you are a hardened Husky fan .

The engines are crap, as are the other parts, including what is also sold as aftermarket plastic parts. So far, they have been easy enough to tell apart from the originals, based on several details (that I obviously won't list).

The fakes that aren't even copies are much worse, and can be had in any color that the ones that buy a pallet wants, to vaguely resemble Husky or Stihl (or other brands) colors. The scammer can then add the decales he wants to - crappy 52cc saw presented as "395xp" and "MS440" are exemples that I remember.....

I've ran genuine parts on a none OEM crankcase for a 372 no bother so Parts can't be that bad , looking on eBay you could build a 372 for under £200 ! Even if you put OEM bearings in.

I agree and know all that . I have been reporting them for at least 4 years on fleabay but have given up now . Seen the " 365 " ones bid up for stupid money . Obviously by people not as knowledgeable as you or I . If it says mix ar 25:1 then no need to look any further . Its a fake .

Ok guys, a quick update on 3120xp on ebay for £800. After about 5-6 weeks the seller told me it had been shipped and had arrived at Southhampton from the states but was having trouble with couriers and so was going to pick it or them up personally and refunded my £800. He said he would contact me the following week when he had them in his workshop if I was still intereseted. No word, so I contacted him again to note I was still interested. Seller: bagotj2809 based in Ormskirk. No reply, all very weird,,,

Rule of thumb, never buy stolen equipment, never buy what might be stolen and never buy from the back of a van..

My friend borrowed 150 off his work mate to buy somethin from the back of a van.

turned out he'd just borrowed 150 to buy a brick... and his work colleague wanted his money back before the day was out...

That was an old TV trick.....look at what you are getting the Fella says, taking a nice TV out of an opened box, I will just get you a fresh new one and he sells the dupe a box of bricks:thumbdown:

What you put together for your own use is nobodys business - but never present the result as the real thing.

It will be heavier, and of sub-standard quality - there is no way around that!

....and of course you will be supporting the cheaters.... :cursing:
