When you think about the amount of force a small breeze would exert on the junction, my 10 stone would be irrelevant. I'm not saying I would or wouldn't go up that, without seeing it, but with the recent winds, and the lean on that stem, there must be something strong holding it.

you could go up the left limb ,swing across cut in small bits to stop it shking

Its calm up here.

 

Years of fungus no reductions to remove weight off limbs, recent high winds will have contributed to this.

 

As said here is a small strap at the back and some compression wood at the front. What really is the compression wood going to do? The small strap is onto a hollow part on the other stem.

Like I said, I haven't seen it, and if I did go up, I'd be sweating, a lot. Still, beats trimming 18' conny hedges over borders.
