Bosch and Varta batteries are made on the same production line. In my 40 odd years in the heavy goods game their Silver Calcium batteries were top drawer. I used to supply all the Fire Services, their batteries are constantly on charge, driver approaches cab, pulls out charge plug and leaps in. All other batteries would not stand this constant charging. Fire engine with a dead battery is not a lot of good.

Im not offended, if anything I will look into Odysey another time.

Yuasa however dont like vibration. A place I work at has gobbled through these in under three months on treelifting machines which vibrate blades through the soil.

Different applications to different batteries. Im suprised at the optima failures compared to my experience.

Could explain part of the reason our yusas were mediocre. Bolted to the bed plate of a generator and trickle charged at 3 amp they were poor performers after a year. Most bat manufacturers only give a years warranty on plant applications so it's essential they last 3.5 years or customers think they were only fitted 6 months ago. We had a few problems with Varta which surprised us as they were incredibly expensive. I have a fancy sealed Varta in the workshop floating at about 13 volts as soon as you drop tested it dead a do do.
