I use a KM 56 two stroke ( my 5th one), terrible vibrations but works me, I trim lots of large hedges, shrubs, grass banks, low hanging tree branches.

 

Do not buy the 4 mix models, everyone will be along shortly to tell you why! Stihl are going back to Two Stroke Models hopefully in 2015 as I would like a larger engine.

 

While your browsing have a look at Echo and Husquvana versions as well.

I ask because the weight difference between the 100 and 130 seems to be about 1 or 2lb's... Surely it would be silly not to go for the more powerful engine or am I missing something?

You must be comparing a KM90R with a KM130.

 

The KM130 has metal " bike handle bars " instead of a plastic loop.

 

The KM130R is only 0.1kg heavier than the KM90R.

 

I stiil bought a KM56 rather than a 4mix.

My 4mix HL95 has been amazing for the 6years I have owned it and still with same plug in ,used daily too .

 

Will or hope to buy another one .

My KM130 has been nowt but bother engine wise.

The cheapo 56 runs the heads just as well.

 

Won't buy 4-mix again.

I have got km100R and 130R Both very powerful.weight wise you get use to it.i preffer 130Rmore power.

New stihl cataloge has the 94 engine as a kombi option. It has a 2 mix engine.

 

Although personally our 2 4 mix's have been fine.

I just bought a Husky 525, feels nice to use there is some flex/anti vib in the handle. Dealer said the engine is Japan made? Not sure if it's exactly the same as UK model but think I saw one on frjones
