Fans on log burner?

We have 2 fans on top of our 12kw stove and they really do distribute the heat well. A thermal image of a running stove shows you that most of the heat is within a few feet around the stove and then obviously straight up towards the ceiling. With a fan running the heat is evenly spread around the room. If I have to go to the bathroom in the night, I can feel the heat at the top of the stairs, works for us!

Have thought of one.......but use an old electric fan when I need to. Too tight to fork out for a fancy piece of twisted metal:001_tongue:

Do the fans on top of the log burners work? Anyone use one?

 

Thinking of getting 2, one to blow out into the room and one to blow towards the door corridor.

You've got darned good hearing then Jon as the moment anything happens in the room - chat, TV, cat breaking wind - you can't hear the very, very quiet fan engine.

I get you being too tight (!) but the thing's hypnotic: you don't watch the twisted metal (which may need a bit of straightening out of the wrapping) - you watch the engine.

I have had a two blade e-bay one for nearly three years and just bought a four blade one for just under 50 quid on e-bay, and it does make a difference to the room. If you go for one, get a four blade one.

I have eco and vuclan, eco starts on its own Vulcan has to be hand started , eco runs on lower temp.

Original eco fans are good. Some cheep copies are not so great.
