Machine to produce kindling from pallets?

Is there such a thing or is it a split/saw it by hand effort? I have seen the kindling processors which split round logs, but I may have access to a large and regular stock of pallets and I would be interested in utilising some of that for kindling if possible.

 

Any suggestions would be good.

Why not use the pallet as a pallet?

pallet wood & any other type of joiners off cuts will go through a kindlet or any other kindling machine!!

 

you just have to spend an age cutting the pallets up to fit the machine!!

yeah its the cutting up bit that is not good!! A lot of the pallets are already broken but it would be nice to chuck the large chunks in one end and get a nice bag of kindling out the other end!

Its not recommended to convert pallets into kindling as some of them are treated with copper chrome arsenate which is bad,or methyl bromide which is an even worse.

If you're selling it on,its a big no no.

yup only pallets that are heat treated normally marked HT are ok for kindling!!

You've got to look at the blocks on pallets and they normally have HT stamped on meaning heat treated, so safe for burning

there is machine a on ebay ,friend of mine bought one but soon sold it and got a kindlet ,u can put pallet wood in a kindlet you need them cut to 6.5 inches exact and stack them 7 inch high ,its hard work ,but if you get the pallets free and you have the time its well worth it ,i hire mine out have a look its on ebay ,good luck
